Conrad J. Godly lives and works in Graubünden (CH) and in Japan. After successfully completing the preparation course at the School of Design in Basel in 1981/82, he attended the ‘Malfachklasse Franz Fedier’. During a stay in the United States in the late 1980's he discovered the pleasures of photography for the first time. Until 2004 he was a professional photographer, doing works for international magazines as well as advertisements. After that he got back to painting as his main art form, having a studio in Vienna in the meantime. He received the promotion price of the canton Graubünden twice, once for big projects (2010) and once for small projects (2011).
