This collaboration with Fritz Hauser was developed during my most recent exhibition at Galerie Graf & Schelble, in 2015. I was looking for the right sound to accompany my “mirror funnel” (Spiegeltrichter) performance.
My object GROSSER SPIEGELTRICHTER, with which I could generate three-dimensional mirror worlds, also proved to be an excellent sound body. Fritz Hauser used different drumsticks and a violin bow to play on the outside of the funnel, collecting the sounds and noises for his composition.
The current collaborative contribution to the exhibition at Kunsthaus Baselland originated from the colored stencil drawing that Fritz Hauser chose as a thank-you for his work on the joint performance. He has composed a soundtrack to accompany it. Hauser used sounds and noises generated with the mirror funnel for this composition.
