Irie Qiwen Cao (b. 1996, Guangzhou China) is drawn to experiences that exist outside the logic of capitalist temporality. They understand objects as interfaces of information, carrying traces of aesthetic, historical, and geographical conditions. By operating within this liminal space, where different timelines, memories, identities, and political positions intersect, their practice selects and composes symbolic materials into spatial constellations, holding moments in which a hybrid temporality becomes materialized and sustained.
