For the first time in Switzerland, Kunsthaus Baselland organizes two solo shows devoted to the most recent works of the two artists Pietro Sanguineti (born in 1965 in Stuttgart, lives and works in Berlin) and Franck Scurti (born in 1965 in Lyon, lives and works in Paris); neither had these two artists ever met before, nor had they been cognizant of each other’s works.

While other exhibitions have centered on the dialog of two positions, this one deliberately contrasts two approaches which, for all their differences, share at least two common features: a) allusions to real everyday life and b) conceptual references to the accomplishments of artist Marcel Broodthaers.
