Film premiere of "DEUTSCHE LANDSCHAFT - ein Fragment." A Film essay by Erich Busslinger
«DEUTSCHE LANDSCHAFT – ein Fragment» tells of landscapes and places that the author visited in Berlin 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and while travelling through Poland and Lithuania; layers of time from the present, history and memory. Landscapes of ruins evoke events from the Second World War. Grinding sounds pervade the grey, overcast landscape on the Vistula. Along the Wall Trail we hear the echo of lost utopias. In the forests, the scene of unspeakable violence, the traces of the past reappear.
The film essay shows the tension between erasure and revelation, between absence and presence, and reflects ruptures in the history of the 20th century that continue to have an impact in the present day.
