Rosemarie Trockel lives and works in Cologne.
1974—1978 studies at the Cologne Werkschulen (art and design department of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences)
Rosemarie Trockel has been a professor at the Düsseldorf Academy of Art since 1998. In 2012, she was appointed a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and the Arts. Since October 2012, Trockel has been a founding member of the Akademie der Künste der Welt in Cologne. As early as 1995, she became a member of the Akademie der Künste Berlin, Section for Fine Arts.
Her multifaceted artistic work includes paintings and drawings, sculptures, sculptures and objects as well as video works and installations. Her work is not limited to an iconography or a particular theory of art.
