Tania Bruguera grew up in Havana, Cuba and now lives and works in New York.
1980—1983 Art School, Havana

1988—1992 Art studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), specializing in painting
After completing her studies, she worked as a Lecturer in Painting at the ISA until 1996 and, from 1992 to 1993, worked in parallel on an art project with behavior-prone children.
Since 1997, she spends most of her life outside of Cuba — first in Chicago, where she graduated from the Art Academy in 2001, a master's degree in performance, and later worked as a teacher from 2003 to 2010. She currently lives in New York.
